Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team is growing, creating a new opportunity to help shape health, safety and wellbeing across a varied and dynamic organisation.
Reporting to the General Manager, the position is based at our Christchurch Support Office in Burnside, however we’re open to location for the right person. Occasional national travel is required.
In this role, you’ll coach and support operational leaders, deliver practical training and initiatives, and work across the business to strengthen health, safety and wellbeing. You’ll also help implement systems and projects that improve performance and build shared ownership for safety at all levels.
With 1300+ employees and 80+ sites across the motu, we offer huge variety. You’ll get to see the big picture, be on the tools, and influence from the ground up to senior leader level. Whether you’re writing SOPs or documentation, completing investigations, or coaching our leaders, you’ll do all whilst credibly influencing health and safety outcomes across Farmlands.
Mōhou ake | About you
This role is suited to an experienced and practical safety professional with strong communication skills and a focus on positive outcomes. Key to your success will be:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a medium-to-large organisation with complex operational risk, supporting multiple sites, geographically dispersed teams, or national operations
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical and subject matter expertise to strengthen systems, build capability and deliver safety projects
- Proven communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust across a range of teams and working environments
- A pragmatic and proactive approach - collaborative, adaptable and focused on delivering meaningful results
Desirable:
- Experience leading wellbeing initiatives and/or injury management
- A tertiary qualification either in health and safety or other relevant field (e.g. law, science, education, commerce, etc.)
