Mō te whai waahi | About the opportunity
As a Farmlands' Technical Advisor, you'll use your ability to engage others to build trusted relationships and recommend best horticultural solutions to our shareholders. You'll spend your days on the road visiting growers across Canterbury - providing a vital service as the face of Farmlands.
Mōhou ake | About you
Ideally, you’ll have some familiarity with the horticultural environment, but more importantly, you’re someone who’s curious, adaptable, and eager to learn. Whether you’re a recent graduate or have experience in another industry, this is a great opportunity to grow your career while making a real difference for our clients.
We’re looking for a well-rounded individual rather than a technical crop expert. You don’t need to know everything about horticulture from day one — what matters most is your ability to build strong relationships, your willingness to learn, and your resilience. We’re looking for an all-rounder — someone with a strong focus on sales, relationship building, and communication. You’ll thrive on helping others succeed, managing your time effectively, and building connections within the community.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A passion for helping people and building trusted relationships
- Proven sales or customer service skills — or the drive to develop them
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, agriculture, or a related field (or a willingness to learn on the job)
This is the perfect opportunity for someone ready to kickstart their career in a role that blends people, problem-solving, and real-world impact.
