Mō te whai waahi | About the opportunity
Farmlands is looking for a Technical Training Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping capability across our nationwide Field Sales and technical workforce.
This is a highly influential role sitting at the centre of the business. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, technical experts, and field‑based teams to define, influence, and deliver a clear learning direction that supports business performance today and into the future.
You’ll own the end‑to‑end learning approach for your portfolio from multi‑year strategy and roadmap development, through to hands‑on facilitation and content creation. You’ll also lead one direct report and collaborate with external partners to deliver high‑impact, practical learning that truly lands in the field.
If you thrive on influence, love being in front of people, and want the scope to shape learning at scale in a values‑driven organisation - this role offers genuine impact and autonomy.
For the right candidate, we’re open to discussing relocation support to Christchurch.
Mōhou ake | About you
You’re a senior L&D professional who brings strong presence, credibility, and influence. You’re comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders - from senior leaders and technical specialists through to frontline sales teams - and you know how to bring people with you through change.
You genuinely love facilitation. Getting up in front of a room energises you, whether that’s engaging a group of 10 or confidently facilitating learning for audiences of 100+. You balance this with the ability to step back, think strategically, and design learning that delivers sustained capability uplift over time.
You’re equally comfortable shaping multi‑year learning strategies as you are rolling up your sleeves to design engaging content and deliver learning in practical, real‑world environments.
You’ll bring:
Proven influencing ability, with a strong track record of building credibility, challenging thinking, and aligning diverse stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation
Extensive facilitation experience, with a high degree of comfort and confidence leading engaging learning experiences for large and diverse audiences
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering multi‑year L&D strategies and large‑scale capability programmes
Strong technical content creation skills, including designing engaging learning materials, facilitator guides, digital modules, and practical tools that support on‑the‑job application
Experience designing and delivering learning across a range of methods - face‑to‑face, digital, experiential, and blended
Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging learning that works for adult learners
Experience partnering with external vendors to enhance technical learning and align with industry qualification frameworks

A growth mindset, resilience, and a genuine passion for improving performance through learning
