At Farmlands Te Whenua Tāroa, our people are at the heart of everything we do - and we’re looking for an experienced People & Capability Advisor to help us continue building a strong, values-led workplace.
Based at our Christchurch Support Office and reporting to the People & Capability Manager, this newly created role plays a critical part in providing trusted, practical employment relations advice to leaders and teams across our nationwide business.
You’ll work closely with leaders to proactively manage and resolve ER matters, including performance management, ER processes and documentation and organisational change, ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent and aligned with both legislation and our co‑operative values. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to broader people initiatives across policy, engagement and generalist HR activities.
This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on ER work with the opportunity to influence, coach and lift capability across the business.
Mōhou ake | About you
You’re a confident HR generalist with strong employment relations expertise and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. You’re comfortable operating in complex environments and partnering with leaders to navigate sensitive issues with professionalism and care.
You’ll bring:
At least 5 years’ experience in a HR generalist or advisory role, ideally within a multi-site or operational environment
Proven experience managing a wide range of employment relations matters, including disciplinaries, performance management and change processes
Strong working knowledge of NZ employment legislation and innovative HR approaches
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, applied to ER investigations and risk assessment
Clear, confident written communication skills for ER documentation
The ability to build credible relationships across all levels of the organisation
Sound judgement, resilience and the confidence to provide clear, balanced advice
Experience contributing to HR projects, policy development or organisational initiatives
