We have an exciting opportunity for a Storeperson to join the team at our Cromwell branch, working 40 hours per week. This role has a focus on deliveries and the unloading/loading of stock, as well as serving customers on the shop floor.

The back store operation is vital to our performance, so it is critical we get the right person who has a strong work ethic and thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You'll be the go-to person for stock health at the branch, taking ownership of your area and confidently managing your day-to-day workload independently, while working closely with the wider store team and internal and external freight companies to keep inwards and outwards goods moving smoothly. There's real scope to grow within the role as you build your skills and take on more responsibility.

This is a physically active role, with regular heavy lifting required, including frequent lifting of bags weighing up to 25kg.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am–5.00pm, with a rostered Saturday shift approximately once per month 9.00am–12.00pm.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing superior service to our customers and freight companies.

• Operating a point of sale (POS) system.

• Completing administrative tasks such as maintaining and receipting of stock.

• Restocking and organising our product in the bulk store and stockroom.

• Liaising with internal and external freighting companies to manage inwards and outwards goods.

• Acting as the gatekeeper for stock health across the branch.

• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient storeroom and yard.

• Compliance of health and safety regulations within a transport and stockroom environment, particularly when working around forklifts, vehicles and customers.

Mōhou ake | About you

• Previous experience working in a storeroom, either within a retail or warehouse environment using a forklift — particularly a fast-paced environment with high volumes of stock and traffic movement would be advantageous.

• A current full drivers licence and forklift (F) endorsement is required for this role.

• You're physically fit (able to lift 25kg consecutively).

• Sound computer skills.

• Friendly and approachable with great communication skills.

• You work well as part of a team, while also being confident working independently and taking ownership of your area.

• Confident at multitasking and able to remain calm under pressure.

• Self-motivated and able to prioritise your workload, stay on task and keep things moving without needing constant direction.

• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a busy environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting stock processes right the first time, particularly when receiving, picking, checking and dispatching stock.
