AgronoMe
The AgronoMe programme is the first in a series of professional development opportunities that Farmlands offers.

The advice and support of technical experts is one of the important ways that the organisation offers significant value to customers and their agricultural businesses, and input from agronomy and nutrition experts can only increase in importance to farmers and growers as they seek to respond effectively to fast-paced scientific, technological, economic and environmental change.
As participants in the programme, AgronoME cadets will have access to a range of learning opportunities, including hands-on workshops, in-field coaching, and supplier accreditation, all undertaken with the support of Farmlands experienced agronomists, who will provide guidance and shared experience to develop the cadet’s skills and knowledge.
After successfully completing their assigned activities, written work and knowledge checks, cadets will graduate to an agronomist role, where they’ll begin to apply the skills and knowledge they’ve learned in the field.
What do our AgronoMe cadets have to say?
-
It feels like I'll be putting back into Farmlands. We’ll each be bringing different skills in addition to agronomy, such as people management; it’s not just about agronomy knowledge, it’s developing your people skills too.
-
I’ve been repping for years now and looking for my next step. It's so cool Farmlands has put together a career advancement programme for those who want to move into the agronomy field. I have an ambition to grow and specialise, and I’m looking forward to learning.
-
The programme will allow me to teach and train others, which I enjoy, and it’ll also have me using my knowledge in crop and plant physiology, which I gained through study at Lincoln University.

Cultivate
Cultivate is a twelve-month development programme that recognises our field team’s ability to deliver reliable technical services and sales solutions to our shareholders.
Workshops are delivered through the year by Farmlands technical specialists and our strategic partners, covering key service areas, dairy, arable, beef and lamb.
The programme is designed to outfit learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify the issues that affect a modern agribusiness, consider the benefits and drawbacks of a range of solutions, and provide our shareholders with the best possible outcome.
By combining the knowledge gained in these workshops with the hands-on experience from their field role, learners complete a series of assessments that demonstrate the ability to implement what has been learned, and problem solve in real world situations.
Cultivate is delivered in partnership with the Primary Industry Training Association (Primary ITO) and on completion of the programme team members are awarded a Certificate in Rural Services (Level 4).
