Mō te whai waahi | About the opportunity
We're looking for someone to work Saturdays and Sundays at our Richmond store.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing retail sales and customer service to our shareholders.
- Advising customers on a range of sheep and beef, dry stock and general agricultural products.
- Operating a point of sale (POS) system.
- Completing administrative tasks such as ordering and receipting of stock.
- Restocking and displaying our products.

- You have a positive attitude and are keen to learn - we can train you on the rest!
- You can engage and talk to anyone.
- You have retail sales or customer service skills and experience.
- You have sound computer skills.
- You're physically fit as there will be lifting and manual handling tasks.
Bonus Points for:
- A background in the farming sector.
- A broad knowledge of agricultural products and services.
- A forklift licence.
- A first aid licence.

Join us at Farmlands and gain an NZQA Retail qualification.
Our NZ Apprenticeship in Retail qualification includes on-the-job training, self-directed learning, and mentoring support.
The program consists of:
- NZ Certificate in Retail Level 3 (Year 1)
- NZ Certificate in Retail Level 4 (Year 2)
Once you complete both certificates, you will be awarded the full Retail Apprenticeship qualification that you'll have for life!

You'll need to work a minimum of 16 hours per week to be eligible for the Retail Apprenticeship.
